Kingsport’s Sculpture Walk is back for its sixth year, with 10 new pieces on display along Broad and Main streets downtown. Curator Peggy Wood Townsend selected the sculptures out of 47 works submitted to Kingsport’s Cultural Arts Division by 28 artists from across the country. Townsend is interim director of Public Art Chattanooga and co-owner of Townsend Atelier, which makes and sells fine mold-making and casting materials, finishes and patinas to artists and craftspeople around the globe. Experience a day of garden tours showcasing six of Kingsport’s most beautiful private gardens. Proceeds from the event will benefit Keep Kingsport Beautiful's beautification and education programs. In March of 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with our network of 1600 state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, our goal was to create a movement across America in hundreds of local communities where veterans and military families return every day.
